How to Deep cover test pipe

Warning not for the tree huggers
since they no longer test for emmisions here in NY only for ECU codes, I figured It’s time to do a test pipe . I wanted to make a test pipe that was near impossible to see, so I got a spare cat and got some 2.5″ pipe. Pipe size may vary depending on the inside diameter of your catalytic converter

then with the help of a screwdriver and a hammer I removed all the crap inside that cat.

then the pipe fits perfectly through the middle of the cat.

so I cut it to size and also put a little bevel on the edge of the pipe so the welds will fill in a little better. there is less than a 1/16 all around with 2.5″ piping

now all I have to do is get it welded and get a casper cel eliminator and I’m set. the O2 sensor will still fit in the stock location so the heater will work properly and everything.

if you really wanted to take this a step furthur you could drill holes in the pipe and fill the cat with some material like fiberglass or steel wool and turn it into a muffler, but that seamed like to much work for me
